A Collection of Sweet Treats, Puddings and Cakes by Norah Brown MBE
Following on from the success of my Bread & Scone Recipe Booklet, I’m very pleased to be able to bring together for you, another collection of some of my favourite recipes that I have shared with you on Facebook over the last year.
We still have a great tradition of home baking here in Northern Ireland and like our Breads, its important not to lose this skill. So, for that reason, this time, it’s all about Sweet Treats, Puddings and Cakes. Simple recipes to inspire and encourage you to make them in the comfort of your own kitchen.
A Collection of Tasty and Delicious Savoury Recipes by Norah Brown MBE
Cooking from scratch on a regular basis can be a challenge in our fast paced ever changing world. It is just so easy to go into the shops and get your favourite food pre-prepared.
However, there are huge advantages to be had when you make your own food. Not only is it economical on the purse strings, you know exactly what ingredients you are using and therefore what fuel is going into your body.
This book brings together a collection of savoury recipes that are truly delicious and simple to make. Mainly using store cupboard ingredients, many of the recipes can be prepared ahead and eaten later. There is something to suit all ages and tastes.
A Collection of Traditional Breads & Scones by Norah Brown
I have always been passionate about our Traditional Irish Breads. The smell of the bread baking in the kitchen takes me back to my Granny’s farm in Cappanarrow, Co Laois and her big open fire on which she cooked her bread.
For me, its important that we carry on the tradition of making these breads at home and although we don’t have an open fire for baking, we can still recreate the same smells and tastes in our modern kitchen environment.
This booklet brings together a collection of traditional Irish Breads & Scone recipes that are quite simple to make in the comfort of your own kitchen. Irish Breads don’t require yeast and can be made quite quickly with the use of Bicarbonate of Soda and Buttermilk to rise the bread.
There are lots of hints and tips included on how you can perfect your bread and scones plus new recipe ideas created by myself to give the breads a modern twist.
